Title
Envy
Illustration
Detail
I envy those who lose control
Who vent their fury
Who bare their soul.
While I hang by a thread
Walk the line
Keep my head.
I envy lives of light and dark
Of those who care not
If they miss the mark.
I wither in the sun
Night and day
Bring me undone.
I envy those whose minds aren’t set
Whose lives are lived
With no regret.
I contort under the weight
Of expectations
And sealed fate.
I envy those who dare to fail
Whose hearts and minds
Are not for sale.
I aim to please one and all
Foundations crumble
Values fall.
I envy those who live the dream
Who play dirty
Who play clean.
My path is narrow, straight and true
I sit in judgment
Of me and you.
I envy those who don’t analyse
Who accept what is
Before their eyes.
I lose all the majesty
I can’t see the forest
For the tree.
I envy those who R.I.P.
Whose fulfilled lives
End with dignity.
While I will never be set free
Until I master
Being me.
